by The Finished Space

The participants of Calling It Home‘s Spring 2018 One Room Challenge™ have finally crossed the finish line with their spaces. Made up of both invited designer bloggers and guests, the Challenge allowed only six weeks for them to design and execute a one-room makeover, and what a successful six weeks it has been!

For now, let’s take a look at the astonishing transformations created by the invited participants, shall we?

Alyssa’s vision of the perfect playroom came to life for her children, Coco and Jack. With vertically installed Metrie Complete Pre-Painted Shiplap encompassing the space, Alyssa and her husband, Steve, also incorporated a fun deer print rug, and an adorable nook. Our flat stock also makes an appearance in this space as baseboard and casing for the windows and doors. The chalkboard and animal prints are an adorable touch, along with the vibrant blue and pink wallpapers, chosen with her children’s requests in mind, for the toy closets. By the looks of it, Coco and Jack are already making lasting memories in this space!

The Painted House

Angela wanted a livable space above her garage that was just as inviting as her cottage home, and we have to say, she did not disappoint. Her reveal took our breath away! Using a combination of regional shiplap from our Option {M} Modern Farmhouse style, and Very Square baseboard and casing, Angela created a bright and cozy retreat, equipped with a bar area, bathroom, and deck. The skylights bring in dreamy, natural light and the subtle pops of color are incredibly eye-catching!

The Gold Hive

Week Four | Week Five

Ashley achieved the moody vibe she was looking for with her bedroom makeover. The wall treatment she created definitely adds a jolt of drama to the space. In addition, she did a fabulous job mimicking the board and batten that was already found in the home, using our regional pine lattice. Her color choices of grey paint mixed with brass elements have also left us swooning!

Beginning In The Middle

The design duo, Catherine and Bryan, made a bold statement with their living and dining room transformation, which included abstract rugs, blue accent furnishings, and a flashy light fixture. We love the revamp of the fireplace in their living room, and how they used panel mould from our Fashion Forward Collection to frame the wall prints and sectional couch. The two also got creative by adorning wallpaper with a combination of poplar and MDF Fashion Forward panel mould to create a custom chair rail, in their dining room.

Jenna Sue Design Co.

Our wanderlust side is beaming as we explore Jenna’s bedroom reveal. Searching for the right elements for her French-Bohemian space, it is safe to say she nailed it! From our French Curves doors, painted in a soft pink, to the tufted headboard, lacy fabrics, and a renovated wardrobe, these different components come together to exude a Parisian ambiance. Meanwhile, the atlas map above the desk and bamboo shades add a balance of eclectic vibes. Jenna wanted this space to feel more like home, and there’s no denying that she has created it.

Rambling Renovators

Bright and airy are what come to mind after seeing Jennifer’s master bedroom reveal! She has given her space a facelift with Masonite’s Logan doors from Metrie, and a fresh coat of white paint. The refresh also includes Very Square baseboard and casing which offer a crisp, clean look. We also can’t help but notice the charming mix of masculinity and feminity throughout, with the handsome furniture and curtains, as well as the subtle floral prints and greenery. This space is more inviting and cozy with beautiful pillows and throws, and taupe patterned wallpaper.

Nancy completely transformed her son’s room, and it is gleaming with color and textures! She perfectly paired pops of red with blue hues, from the crown moulding to the rug, but our eyes don’t stop there — take a look at the adjoining grasscloth wall-covering! Built-ins, including a desk and nook, are also incorporated into this space for added storage and organization, and of course, to showcase all of the sophisticated decor.

Natasha Habermann Studio

What a difference Natasha made to her living room and foyer! Starting with the foyer, we are greeted with colorful artwork and the ebony painted staircase. The crisp white French Curves baseboard offers contrast to the other striking architectural elements in Natasha’s entryway. Moving into her living room, where the French Curves poplar casing was used to surround the entrances, we can’t help but also notice the gorgeous wall treatment, which was created with regional panel mould for added luxe. She also included tantalizing rugs and plants to emphasize the lively look.

Each of these spaces won over our hearts! A huge round of applause for all of the talented participants who took on this challenging, yet rewarding task!
