New Year’s Eve with a Vintage Industrial Twist

While we’re gearing up to celebrate the New Year, we can’t help but look back, way back. For our New Year’s Eve party style, we’re bringing elements of the past into the present for a fresh and urban feel; perfect for whatever city you’re in to watch the ball drop.

Edison bulbs and unexpected decor mix the old and new.

Inspired by Option {M} Vintage Industrial, our New Year’s party plan celebrates urban living. We’re imagining you hosting a party in your downtown loft, or if you’re going all out, a warehouse just outside of the city. If your backdrop has exposed brick and hardwoods, you’re ahead of the game.

Regardless of where you’re having your party, or whether it’s big or small, there are a few pieces you’re going to want to start with like industrial lighting and Prohibition-era drinks.

Add festive flair with Edison bulbs hung everywhere. They exude warm light while staying true to your vintage style. Next, style your bar cart with the essentials: copper mule mugs and your choice of bubbly for the celebration. About the bar, consider using unexpected pieces as your ice buckets, like galvanized steel.

Once you’ve got those items covered, you can start thinking about the smaller details. Capture happy memories for the coming year with a polaroid guest book and spread the love by giving out party favors and belated presents — wrapped in brown paper of course.

Or, let your menu be the star by posting it on butcher paper for all to see, but don’t forget to bookend your meal with a cheese platter and dessert bar.

Whatever your plans, make these tips your own to really embody the Vintage Industrial style.
