Last week, we traded in the cold weather for the sunshine of Orlando, Florida to attend the 2018 International Builders’ Show. We had a blast meeting new people, soaking in the inspiration and celebrating the winners of our Every Room Tells A Story — 2017 Builder & Designer Challenge.
So many gorgeous designs were submitted this year. We were blown away by the innovative and sophisticated ways designers and builders used our products in their newest projects. We’ll be sharing our favorites throughout the year, but to kick off the New Year, we’re focusing on our Grand Prize winner: Jenny Martin Design.
This bedroom, designed for a cultured couple looking for a place to settle down after their travels, is the height of modern luxury with plenty of traditional beauty.
It’s pretty clear why we’ve completely fallen head-over-heels in love with this ‘Mise en Place’ master suite. The crisp and classic white-on-white moulding, courtesy of our Fashion Forward Collection makes every single wall a piece of art (so there’s no need to fret about the perfect gallery wall).
However, the white palette is tempered with the bold colors and textures of the bed and linens. Velvet and chenille are on display, from the headboard to the throw pillows and blanket. Can we just say, we are so on board with this velvet trend. Take a closer look at this space with our moodboard, and steal ideas for your next master suite project.
Now, to really get this look, you’ll need a bed fit for a queen. We recommend this bold version from Wayfair. Once you’ve got your statement piece in place, accessorize with velvet throw pillows in any color or pattern to add a splash of unexpected color. Next, simply add a pair of transitional nightstands with plenty of flexible storage.
We just adore how Jenny elevated the architectural interest in this bedroom through a build-up of our Fashion Forward Scene II baseboard and panel mould. This combination of trim was a simple way to add grandeur and height to the space.
And we have to mention the stunning ceiling treatment! Jenny used a simple piece of panel mould to enhance the character of this room’s fifth wall!
Really, that’s all you need. Once again, this room proves that if you use simply, yet sophisticated interior finishings, you’ll have the perfect canvas to show off your own style.
We’ve got more swoon-worthy trimspiration on Pinterest! Take a look at our curated board for a peek at the rest of this en suite, you’ll flip over our bathroom and walk-in closet ideas. And yes, we’ve even got some tips to recreate that hidden door. Happy Pinning!
