Monthly Moodboard Inspiration: G.A. White Homes
March 16, 2017
by The Finished Space

We hope that you were able to draw lots of inspiration from our moodboard last month featuring the 2016 Builder & Design Challenge Grand Prize winner, Calista Munnell, of Calista Interiors.

This month, we’re highlighting what is arguably the world’s most beautiful home office. Shawn White, of G.A. White Homes, was one of our 2016 Builder & Designer Challenge People’s Choice Winners, and when you see this room, you’ll know why!

Shawn’s classic design with cozy furniture and a unique combination of our French Curves and Fashion Forward Finishing Collections makes us feel right at home and empowered to take on any project.

The massive glass chandelier and use of our Fashion Forward clear glass interior doors carries the rooms dramatic feel all the way to the hall—while also providing a barrier to the noise and stress that often plague working from home.

Shawn’s Room Turned Moodboard

We were so inspired by Shawn’s design that we created this moodboard to highlight several of the elements that make it so captivating—including the interior finishings!

Our moodboard features Shawn’s neutral palette, accentuated by dark wood finishes and glass accents to create a relaxed and open feeling. The intricate Ikons that line the walls and highlight the ceiling, as well as the dark textured desk create interest and give this space a truly luxe look and feel.

Feeling a wave of inspiration yet? Well just in case you still need a little push (or if you are as obsessed with this design as we are and you just want to keep swooning), we created a Pinterest board to further your vision.

The Components that Inspired the Moodboard

Shawn used Sherwin Williams Tony Taupe for the office walls and offsets the lighter color with panel plate rails in Anonymous. He chose to glaze the Ikons and panel mould in Black Magic to attract attention and add a rustic, homey feel to the interior. Touches of Pure White accentuate the ceiling crown moulding and offer light airy touches to the otherwise dark wood finishes.

The substantial Lexington wing chairs in a subtle pattern are balanced out by the delicate wall sconces that provide extra light and complement the large glass chandelier hanging above the desk. The lighting choices also provide a subtle tie to the glass double door entry way.

The ornate, dark wood desk (that’s sadly been discontinued) and beige desk chair provide a sense of formality and structure within this home office that really helps to set a productive ambience. Lastly, the large hutch in a high sheen finish provides ample storage to keep the area clean and free of clutter to add to the relaxed design.

If someone wants to build this office for us, we promise to be very, very productive!
