Links We Love: The Reveals of the Fall 2016 One Room Challenge
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for: reveal week in Calling It Home’s Fall 2016 edition of the One Room Challenge™!
Over the past six weeks, the designers and design bloggers participating in the Challenge have transformed their spaces in exciting and inspiring ways. Let’s take a look at what Sarah Walker, Gwen, Tricia, Shannon Claire, Kirsten Krason, Sherry Hart, Megan Pflug, Vanessa Francis, Leslie, and Bethany have done with their rooms.
Six weeks ago, designer Sarah Walker began her basement renovation. She wanted to create a space where her family could relax and connect, and we think she accomplished her objective beautifully! Sarah stuck with her original paneling plan and used Metrie’s Fashion Forward and Pretty Simple panel moulding to create a stunning, formal look in a previously lackluster space. Head over to The Curated House for the rest of Sarah’s reveal!
Blogger Tricia tackled a lot of work in her six week renovation as she set out to revamp her living room, breakfast nook, and kitchen. Redesigning such a large space in a short amount of time made for some stressful moments, but you’d never know looking at the resulting serene, Parisian-inspired design. Check out her post to see the finished product and the beautiful crown and panel moulding that pulled the whole space together!
It’s clear that blogger Gwen’s multitasking sunroom/nursery/office space was designed with love, and now it’s the temporary home to the precious Dominio! That’s right, as the project was winding down, a new addition to the Hefner family arrived. We’re sure that Gwen’s beautifully redesigned sunroom with be full of love and new memories. Visit her post to join in on the joy!
Looking through designer Shannon Claire’s photos from her reveal, all we can say is “wow.” Her open concept living room, dining room, and entry area have changed so dramatically since week one. Shannon’s talents in design have taken a simple and boring space and turned it into a striking and livable center of her home. Want to get a closer look at that Fashion Forward interior door or see how that gorgeous mirror moulding wall turned out? Visit Shannon’s blog!
How can you get more use out of a dining room? Make it work overtime as a homework and craft space for your little ones! In the past six weeks, designer Kirsten Krason reimagined her uninspiring space with the help of functional furniture, beautiful Metrie Pretty Simple and Very Square trim, calming art, and cozy carpets. Check out her full reveal.
Designer Sherry Hart’s entire home is based around a white palette, but she broke all the rules with a dark master bedroom… and we love the final product. Check out her post for all the details on the decor, lighting, and Metrie trim!
It’s official: the Highland Park Cottage is complete and ready to be rented out! Designer Megan Pflug started work on her basement six weeks ago. The space was a blank canvas, so she designed her rental suite like a studio apartment. The space includes exposed beams, concrete floors with cozy carpets, and a beautiful fireplace created with Metrie’s True Craft Fir casing. We can’t wait to check in! Catch up on all the little details of the space.
Designer Vanessa Francis’ all brown everything builder’s grade kitchen is long gone, replaced with a bright and charming space to cook, eat, and entertain. Head over to her post to get all the details on her custom island, bold 7 1/4’’ Metrie Pretty Simple baseboard, and that stunning quartz!
Can you imagine a dreamier space? In just six weeks, blogger Leslie managed to elevate her drab master bathroom into an opulent retreat. Her most impressive design choice? Installing Metrie’s French Curves panel moulding to mask the clutter the four doors created — genius! Check out Leslie’s post to see the rest of this opulent room.
Bethany and her family finally have a place to hang their hats (and coats and mittens and scarves and sports gear) — and it’s modern and chic to boot! This combination mudroom/laundry room is warm and inviting thanks to the creamy white shiplap walls, classic French Curves crown moulding, herringbone wood ceiling, and large picturesque mirrors. Hop over to Bethany’s blog to see how the rest of her and her husband’s hard work came to life!
