This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose and retain personal information in connection with our network of websites, including metrie.com and its affiliated websites (including any versions optimized for viewing on a wireless or tablet device); all email newsletters published or distributed by Metrie; all apps published by Metrie, if any; and all other interactive features, services, and communications provided by Metrie (“Sites”), however accessed and/or used, that are operated by us, made available by us, or produced and maintained by us. We have established this Privacy Policy to let you know the kinds of personal information we may gather during your visit to these Sites, why we gather your information, what we use your personal information for, when we might disclose your personal information, and how you can manage your personal information.

Please be advised that the practices described in this Privacy Policy apply only to information gathered online at our Sites. It does not apply to information that you may submit to us offline, or to Sites maintained by other companies or organizations to which we may link or who may link to us.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or don’t see your concerns addressed here, you should contact us by email at privacy@metrie.com .

1. What information about me is collected and stored?

Some of the Services may include features or services that permit you to enter contact information and other information about you. We collect and store any information you enter on our Services, including, among other things, your name, e-mail address, telephone number, postal address, credit card, billing and contact information. The following lists the most common ways in which we may collect your personal information.

  • Submission of a job application.
  • Any other place on the Sites where you knowingly volunteer personal information.

In those circumstances, you can choose not to provide certain requested personal information, but then you might not be able to proceed with your intended interaction or transaction with us or otherwise receive the full benefit of the desired product or service.

b. Collection of Personal Information From Social Media Sites or Other Sources

We also may collect and store information about you that we receive from other sources to, among other things, enable us to update and correct the information contained in our database and to better customize your experience on the Sites.

When you interact with any Metrie property page or account on a social media platform, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, LinkedIn, YouTube, or Pinterest, we may collect the personal information that you make available to us on that page or account including your account ID or “handle.” However, we will only collect and store such personal information that we are permitted to collect by these social media platforms.

  • Demographic data such as age, gender, and zip code or area code as part of collecting personal information.

c. Information We Collect Automatically

In addition, when you interact with the Sites, we may collect certain information that does not identify you individually and our servers may automatically keep an activity log of your use of our Sites. Generally, we collect and store the following categories of information:

  • Device information about your computer, mobile device, or other device that you use to access the Sites. This information may include IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language, and other transactional information.
  • Analytics and usage information about your use of the Sites. This information includes a reading history of the pages you view. We use this information to provide you a more customized experience on the Sites.
  • Additional “traffic data” and log files such as time of access, date of access, software crash reports, session identification number, access times, and referring website addresses.
  • Your search terms and search results.
  • Other information regarding your use of the Sites.

d. In addition, the Sites will deliver content based on your current location if you choose to enable that feature. If you enable that feature, your current location will be stored locally on your device which will be used by the Sites to serve you certain content tied to your location. If you elect to have your location-based searches saved to your history, we will store such information on our servers.

Much of this information is collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies, as well as through your web browser or device. Metrie relies on partners to provide many features of our sites and Services using data about your use of Metrie and other sites.

b. Combination of Your Personal Information

We use the information from one portion of the Sites on other portions of Sites in our network of Sites, all of which are owned and operated by Metrie, and we may combine information gathered from multiple portions of the Sites into a single customer record. We also use and/or combine information that we collect off-line or we collect or receive from third party sources to enhance, expand, and check the accuracy of your customer records.

3. Who Do We Disclose Your Personal Information To?

We share information as follows:

a. Service Providers

We have service providers, agents, subsidiaries, affiliates and partners that perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, billing, content syndication, content management tools, social media integration, marketing, analytics, customer service, fraud protection, etc. These entities have access to the personal information needed to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of that personal information. They are restricted from using, selling, distributing or altering this data in any way other than to provide the requested services to the Sites.

b. Online Advertising Partners

We partner with companies that assist us in advertising about our Services to others who may be interested in the Services. These companies may use tracking technologies on our website to collect or receive information from the Services and elsewhere on the internet and then use that information to measure and target ads.

c. Social Media Platforms

If you interact with us on social media platforms, the platform may be able to collect information about you and your interaction with us. If you interact with social media objects on our Services (for example, by clicking on a Facebook “like” button), both the platform and your connections on the platform may be able to view that activity. To control this sharing of information, please review the privacy policy of the relevant social media platform.

d. Emergency Situations and Other Legal Disclosures

We may also use or disclose personal information if required to or authorized by applicable law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (i) conform to applicable law or comply with legal process served on us or the Sites; (ii) protect and defend our rights or property, the Sites or our users; and (iii) act under emergency circumstances to protect the personal safety of us, our affiliates, agents, or the users of the Sites or the public.

e. Potential Purchasers of Our Businesses

We may disclose your personal information in connection with a proposed or actual business transaction in which we are involved (e.g. a corporate amalgamation, reorganization, merger or

acquisition, or the sale or transfer of some or all of our business or assets), and in those circumstances we will require the information recipient to agree to protect the privacy of your personal information in accordance with applicable law.

f. We may use and share at our discretion data that has been aggregated (information that has been compiled into summaries) or de-identified (information that has been stripped of all unique identifiers such that it cannot be linked to a particular individual).

4. User Choices on Collection and Use of Information

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but, if you prefer, you can usually modify your browser setting to disable or reject cookies. If you delete your cookies or if you set your browser to decline cookies, some features of the Services may not be available, work, or work as designed.

You can learn more about ad serving companies and the options available to limit their collection and use of your information by visiting the websites for the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Initiative. Similarly, you can learn about your options to opt-out of mobile app tracking by certain advertising networks through your device settings and by resetting the advertiser ID on your Apple or Android device.

Please note that opting-out of advertising networks services does not mean that you will not receive advertising while using our Services or on other websites, nor will it prevent the receipt of interest-based advertising from third parties that do not participate in these programs. It will, however, exclude you from interest-based advertising conducted through participating networks, as provided by their policies and choice mechanisms. If you delete your cookies, you may also delete your opt-out preferences.

Your browser or device may include “Do Not Track” functionality. At this time, Metrie does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

You may always opt-out of receiving future email messages and newsletters from Metrie. We provide you with the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us by going into your profile settings and choosing the appropriate options. To opt-out, you can also send us a message at privacy@metrie.com or unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism made available to you.

We will rely on you to ensure that the personal information that you provide to us is as accurate, complete and up to date as necessary for the purposes for which we use the personal information. You will promptly notify us of any changes to the personal information that you provide to us using the procedures we make available to you for that purpose or by contacting our Privacy Officer using the contact information set out at the end of this Privacy Policy. You may reasonably request access to your personal information collected by us and information about our use, disclosure and retention of that personal information by submitting a written request to our Privacy Officer using the contact information set out at the end of this Privacy Policy. Subject to applicable exceptions and limitations prescribed by applicable law, you will be given reasonable access to your personal information and you will be entitled to verify the accuracy and completeness of your personal information and to have the information revised as appropriate. You may be required to pay a reasonable fee for access to your personal information. We may decline to process a request that is unreasonably repetitive, frivolous, vexatious or

impracticable, that infringes or jeopardizes the privacy of other persons, or for other reasons permitted by applicable law.

5. Personal Information and Children

Unless otherwise disclosed during collection and with parent or guardian consent (for instance, in some of the educational areas on our Sites), Metrie does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age. If you are under 16 years of age you should not provide personally identifiable information to Metrie without providing us with consent from your parents. If Metrie discovers that a child under the age of 16 has provided Metrie with personal information and we do not have parental consent, Metrie will immediately delete that child’s information from the Sites.

6. What Steps Are Taken To Keep Personal Information Secure?

We are concerned about ensuring the security of your personal information. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in our possession or under our control to help protect personal information from unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, deletion or similar risks. For example, we exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your device to our servers. Personal information collected by our Sites is also stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we disclose your personal information to you. Please understand, however, that while we try our best to safeguard your personal information once we receive it, no transmission of data over the Internet or any other public network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

7. Cross Border Transfer of Information

Your information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in the United States, Canada or any other country in which Metrie, its affiliates or service providers maintain facilities. Metrie, its affiliates, or service providers may transfer information that we collect about you, including personal information across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. Please note that we may transfer information, including personal information, to a country and jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. By providing your personal information to us, you consent to the transfer of information to the United States, Canada, or to any other country in which Metrie, its affiliates or service providers maintain facilities and the use and disclosure of information about you as described in this Privacy Policy.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Information?

We will retain your personal information for the period reasonably necessary for the purposes set out or referenced in this Privacy Policy and to comply with our legal obligations or enforce or protect our legal rights, or a longer period required or permitted by applicable law. We will delete or dispose of your personal information, or depersonalize the information, when we are no longer required or permitted by applicable law to retain the information for the purposes set out or referenced in this Privacy Policy (for example, if you terminate your account or ask us to delete your personal information). If you have any questions about termination or deactivation of your account, please contact us directly at privacy@metrie.com.

9. What Happens When I Link To or From Another Website?

These Sites may contain links to other websites operated by affiliates of Metrie or third parties. Please be advised that the practices described in this Privacy Policy for Metrie do not apply to information gathered through these other websites. We are not responsible for the actions and privacy policies of third parties and other websites.

10. Assignment

We may change our ownership or corporate organization while providing the Sites and services. We may also sell certain assets associated with the Sites. As a result, please be aware that in such an event we may transfer some or all of your information to a company acquiring all or part of our assets or to another company with which we have merged. Under such circumstances we would, to the extent possible, require the acquiring party to follow the practices described in this Privacy Policy, as it may be amended from time to time. Nevertheless, we cannot promise that an acquiring company or the merged company will have the same privacy practices or treat your information the same as described in this Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

As our Sites continue to develop, we may add new services and features to our Sites. In the event that these additions affect our Privacy Policy, this document will be updated appropriately. We will post those changes prominently so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone. We do, however, recommend that you read this Privacy Policy each time you use our Sites in case you missed our notice of changes to the Privacy Policy. We will not, however, materially change our policies and practices to make them less protective of personal information we have previously collected from you without your express consent. If we make material changes to the ways in which we collect, use, disclose and retain your personal information, we will provide you with appropriate notice.

12. Special Information for California Residents

The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) provides California residents with rights to receive certain disclosures regarding the collection, use, and sharing of information about them, as well as rights to know/access, delete, and limit sharing of personal information. You have the right to be free from discrimination based on your exercise of your CCPA rights.

To the extent that we collect personal information that is subject to the CCPA, that information, our practices, and your rights are described below.

a. Notice at Collection Regarding Personal Information Collected

You have the right to receive notice of the categories of personal information we collect, and the purposes for which we use personal information. You also have the right to know about the sources of the personal information and to whom it is disclosed or sold. The categories we use below to describe personal information are those enumerated in the CCPA.

Entities to whom we disclose information for business purposes are service providers, which are companies that we engage to conduct activities on our behalf. Service providers are restricted from using personal information for any purpose that is not related to our engagement.

Entities to whom we “sell” information are third parties. Under the CCPA, a business “sells” personal information when it discloses it to a company for monetary or other benefit. A company may be considered a third party either because the purpose for its sharing of personal information is not for an enumerated business purpose under California law, or because its contract does not restrict it from using personal information for other purposes.

We collect this personal information from the sources described in the Information We Collect section above for the purposes described in the How We Use Your Information section above.
