Our story has been developing for almost 90 years. So has our design, manufacturing and service expertise. We have developed a library of more than 5,000 moulding profiles and the internal capability to create custom profiles to help you design a one-of-a-kind experience. And we are continuously learning, evaluating and improving to stay ahead of the curve.

“Then” and “Now” are words that play into every part of our business.

We know that if we do not make responsible decisions on sourcing and manufacturing today, they will be hurdles for us in the future.

That is why we focus on everything from the lumber we source to the completed project to create more sustainable products. We take care of the natural resources that are the core of our products, business and success. When you choose Metrie, you can be sure that all of our products are manufactured in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.

Each of our five manufacturing facilities is located in the heart of the fiber source and is chain of custody (CoC) certified to the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) CoC Standards. Harvesting wood locally minimizes emissions from transportation and shipping, while ensuring that the wood is sourced from responsibly managed forests.

In addition, our mills work diligently to make sure that waste is virtually eliminated during the manufacturing process. With our precise equipment and superior wood quality, we maximize the output of each piece of wood, leaving only scraps that are then collected and transformed into products such as mulch, plant cover and animal bedding.

We do manufacturing differently. Our domestic manufacturing facilities produce high-quality products right here, minimizing delays and shortages. After 90 years of meticulously crafting finishing elements, we still obsess over our mouldings, scrutinizing the quality and craft of every curve and line. We also keep our ears and eyes on the industry, creating products that reflect current styles and trends. Our manufacturing isn’t just about products; it’s making the best possible solutions.

From Mill to Moulding: A Look at how it's made

Celebrity designers Amanda Forrest and Andrew Pike tour Metrie’s Hemlock manufacturing plant and learn some surprising things about how moulding is made using one of North America’s most desirable wood species in home décor.

Design has always been at the core of our business, and we pride ourselves on providing innovative products to stay at the forefront of design and trends. To that end, we have established an interior design council of some of the most influential and up-and-coming designers in North America. With their perspective, we are able to tackle key challenges facing designers, architects, homeowners and builders today – and provide solutions for tomorrow’s designs.

Production & Distribution

We operate five solid wood and MDF manufacturing facilities, plus 26 distribution centers in the U.S. and Canada. With an annual manufacturing capacity of 460 million feet, we offer a breadth of line that is unparalleled in wood species, finishes and complementary elements across our profiles. Our work allows your work to shine through and create exceptional results.

Quality Control

We believe that our strength lies in our legacy and expertise in the manufacture of interior finishings. Through in-house, CAD-generated templates and metal profile knives, we can ensure true profile compliance with industry leading tolerances, while our advanced manufacturing equipment and quality control processes bring designs to life.

Our mouldings go through a robust series of quality checks during every stage of the production process to ensure consistency and precision. Our rigorous approach to quality works to provide for smoother installation at the project site.
