Welcome to Week Two of our One Room Challenge™ recap! We can’t wait to show you the progress the designers and design bloggers have made this week.
Chris and Julia added some beautiful wainscoting to their nursery this week using trim elements from our Fashion Forward Collection. We love how much depth it adds to the room, and we can’t wait to see how it ties the whole space together.
Joanna finished demolition on her living and dining room area this week. She also raised the header heights on her doors and is preparing to install our Fashion Forward doors. Joanna also used our Very Square baseboard to create a “shiplap” look on her wall. Lastly, she updated the moulding around her windows.
This week, Jen got a new ceiling in her living room and tore out all of the old baseboards and moulding. She is preparing to install our moulding this weekend, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
Vanessa is making great progress in designing her office. She said, “And one of the other decisions I made was to replace all the measly trim (baseboards and window casing) and doors to make the home seem less “builder like.” I just love the 7″ baseboards, the thick window casing and these simple doors, all from Metrie.” We can’t wait to see how she ties these elements together in her new space.
Cassie worked hard this week sanding all of her baseboards and door trim. She did a great deal of painting, too. Her space is really starting to take shape.
Joann and her husband had a very productive week. They stripped out old baseboards, window and door casings and painted the walls. They also primed their Metrie window and door casing. We can’t wait to see how it looks in the new space.
Proper planning is the key to a well designed room, so we’re impressed that Shannon is still making plans for her master bedroom. This week, Shannon chose some furniture to re-purpose and decided on a paint color, this dreamy soft black from Farrow & Ball. Check out her moodboard here.
More ORC Progress Updates
Glitter Guide: Caitlin made great strides toward her dream master bedroom this week. The new wood flooring, carpet, sliding glass doors, and bed are all in place. We can’t wait to watch her tackle casing, baseboards, and crown moulding next week!
Erica Reitman: This week, Erica made the realization that her space does not have much flexibility in rearranging furniture. Her extra challenge will be changing the look and feel of this space without changing the furniture layout.
Christine Dovey: Christine’s basement was framed and drywalled this week allowing the space to really take shape. We can’t wait to see how it comes out.
Suburban B’s: Erin is making steady progress on her daughter’s bedroom and bathroom. The furniture for the bedroom is arriving, and she managed to gut the bathroom and paint the vanity this week.
The Pink Pagoda: Jennifer ran into an HVAC issue this week, which slowed down progress on the ceiling. She’s excited to get that part done so we can work together on the walls. We can’t wait to see how the trim transforms her space.
Old Home Love: Candis decided on a layout for her master suite this week. They are switching their home office and sleeping chamber spaces. This week, Candis will make decisions about furnishings. We can’t wait to see how this space turns out.

Life at Cloverhill: Amanda made progress on refinishing her dresser this week and is still deciding on the color of the feature wall.
