We’re always inspired by an updated classic, especially with a luxurious French twist. Calista Interiors’ 2017 Builder & Designer Challenge entry, a casually elegant dining room, is a perfect example of French-inspired design. We looked deeper into this space with our monthly moodboard. Be sure to have your Pinterest ready, you’re going to want to save this inspiration for your next project.
The wood elements bring a warm counterpoint to the room’s cooler colors, and they are able to work in harmony partially because of the surrounding crisp white canvas. With flat stock and our French Curves panel mould creating an effortlessly chic wall treatment leading up to the crown moulding, Calista and her team created a stately backdrop for the room’s decor. We especially love how she boldly decided to repurpose our French Curves architrave as casing around the windows and doors. Incroyable!
Once Calista designed a clean palette, filling the room with Parisian-inspired pieces was simple. With natural wood, linen, greenery, and antiqued metals, this dining room really comes together. Do you want to see how she did it? Take a look below for inspiration and insight into her design.
We’re marveling at the details in this space! The bulky and natural dining table and buffet are rustic but still have the soft curves that make the room inviting. Linen chairs in a classic shape and antiqued lighting throughout the room would all be right at home in a quaint, French cottage. Simplified jars, clean pops of green, and subtle artwork tie the bow on this beautiful dining room.
