Neutral color palettes will always have a soft spot in our hearts. From warm cream to stark white, subdued colors are one of our favorite ways to showcase interior finishings. Our Metrie Masters must agree because neutral spaces were spotted all over our Every Room Tells A Story — 2017 Builder & Designer Challenge. Take a closer look at a few of these neutral rooms, and don’t confuse the lack of vibrant colors for a safe design.
DLUX Design & Co.
This showroom office space is pulling heavily from a sophisticated palette, and we couldn’t be more in love. With subdued colors, low furniture, and high ceilings, this classic office has a fresh, clean look with just the right touch of modern.
The light and airy feel is complemented beautifully by our Fashion Forward glass doors in a bright white. From there, DLUX Design & Co. incorporated plenty of storage with luxury pieces. Chunkier desks and an island still look delicate with gold pulls and traditional cabinet faces.
One thing’s for sure, this space is sure to spark inspiration when it’s time to work!
If there was any doubt that true neutral design would feel out of place in a bustling home, Calista Interiors’ dining room will reassure you. We love this French-inspired space for its effortlessly chic design.
Linen chairs balance the natural wood table and console for a harmonized look, and our French Curves Collection adds unfussy architectural character to the updated classic. The design team even made the bold choice to use architrave as casing around the doors and windows. The statement pairs well with the beautiful wall treatment; their use of flat stock and panel moulding make the perfect build-up to the crown moulding.
This room also invites the outside in, lending a casual elegance.
Zarrella Development Corporation
The communal areas in a home should be focused on spending time with the people you love or relaxing after a long day. Neutral palettes and breathtaking views are simple ways to create that ambiance, as we saw with this space by Zarrella Development Corporation, one of our People’s Choice Winners.
Wide open windows framed with True Craft casing allow for plenty of natural light. The room feels larger due to the cream-colored walls, topped with Very Square crown moulding to help the eye travel up. Varied seating with multiple textures feels cozy and welcoming, making this living room the place we’d most likely unwind after a hard day of looking at gorgeously designed spaces.

So, what do you think? Did we convince you that neutral design is anything but boring?
We’re always in awe of the creative and beautiful ways builders and designers use our products to turn rooms into stunning, finished spaces. Each month this year, we’re featuring amazing spaces from the Every Room Tells A Story — 2017 Builder & Designer Challenge because these participants truly have artfully mastered Metrie interior finishings, thus them being dubbed as ‘Metrie Masters’, and their work deserves to be celebrated.
