Michael and Briar’s master bedroom has been playing double duty since the birth of their second child acting as a makeshift nursery. The space was dark. It had mishmash furniture and wasn’t functional, but most importantly, it lacked romance!
Needing help rekindling the romance and bringing the space to its full potential, Michael enlisted the help of The Marilyn Denis Show, designer Amanda Forrest and contractor Sebastian Clovis to surprise his wife with a Valentine’s ambush makeover!
To bring the spark back into the couple’s bedroom, Amanda chose to ditch the baby accessories and give the room a luxurious feel.
Overhauling the space, Amanda and Sebastian created architectural interest by installing square wall paneling throughout using Metrie casing. Amanda told Marilyn it is interior finishings that gives the feeling of being in a luxe hotel.
While the room was full of sizzling hot finishings, Amanda’s feature wall stole the show! The wall was painted in a dramatic royal blue, with had pops of emerald green in the cushions and custom drapes, which was juxtaposed by the stark white wall paneling and bedding.
The design pair also explained to Marilyn that incorporating interior finishings in any space is a simple and inexpensive DIY that anyone can tackle to add architectural interest.
