TIPS

We want you to be as successful as you can be when submitting information and completing your contest Entry.

Our panel of judges will be looking for and evaluating your project on:

  • Overall design of the room (50%)
  • Innovative use of products (20%)
  • Use of multiple moulding types (20%)
  • Short write-up on the inspiration for your space (10%)

Please keep the following tips in mind – Good Luck!

TIP #1

Completing your entry form: Please provide accurate information. This includes your contact information, which may be used to reach you, should we notice something about your entry that is not working or submitted properly. We also need to reach you should you win. Remember, Metrie will be promoting your projects to the public during the People’s Choice voting period, so you will want to make sure to project yourself in the best possible way.

TIP #2

Design inspiration write-up: We really want to know what inspired you to create your space and will be promoting your projects on our website gallery after the close of the contest. Your write-up is worth 10% of your overall score, which may sound like a small percentage, but could have a huge impact for advancing your project to the top. We recommend typing your design inspiration into word processing software and pasting it into the entry form to ensure proper grammar, spelling and punctuation.

TIP #3

Your photos: Contest participants are required to submit at least 3 photos, but no more than 5, of the finished room. "Finished" may mean different things to different people, but we ask that you showcase the room in the best possible state of completion. Keep in mind that staged rooms with some furnishings will look the best and may capture the eyes of voters. The 3 room shots can be different angles of the room or close-ups of Then & Now Finishing Collections™ used in your space. Please just be sure that at least one photo is of the full room. For ideas on what 2016 contest participants submitted visit Metrie.com/gallery.

TIP #4

Enter more than once: You are encouraged to enter more than once, especially if you are working on a large project that has multiple rooms. Remember, each entry should be of one room and will require you to submit a new entry form per room. The more you enter, the better the chances to win.
